Aims. To determine the benefits that has the exclusive breastfeeding and the direct relation with the physical and psychological health in the future, both the newborn and mother. Also of the importance of the link that is created between the mother and the baby.
The knowledge about this theme is essential for the midwife, who will give the education of the mother.

Methods: To recognize these benefits in mothers and their babies, has been monitoring several studies of Scientific Electronic Library Online, comparing results of those that maintain breastfeeding, as those in which babies are fed infant formula. Also these studies have revealed that the breastfeeding rates are very low in Latin America and the Caribbean, like almost everyone. For this has been taken measures for the promotion of breastfeeding.

Another important point is the recommendation given by the World Health Organization (WHO), which says that children should be exclusively breastfed during the first 6 months of life. This measure not is considerer for a lot of mothers.

Results: All this studies have found that the babies that are fed with maternal milk until the six month, in the future are babies healthy and they respond positively to the stimuli and to the disease.

Others studies that explore the advice on breastfeeding, have show that  promoting exclusive breastfeeding in social, economic and cultural backgrounds, are a way to promote maternal and child health highly effective.

Conclusion: It is very important to promote exclusive breastfeeding, to prevent diseases and have healthier children in the future.

Breastfeeding: The best nutrition

Aims. To determine the benefits that has the exclusive breastfeeding and the direct relation with the physical and psychological health in the future, both the newborn and mother. 
The knowledge about this theme is essential for the midwife, who will give the education of the mother.

Methods: To recognize these benefits in mothers and their babies, has been monitoring several studies of Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo), comparing those results that maintain breastfeeding, as those in which babies are fed infant formula.

Results: has shown that breastfed babies prevent diseases such as diarrhea, respiratory infections, ear infections, meningitis, also make them smarter.

Conclusion: It is very important to promote exclusive breastfeeding, to prevent disease and have healthier children.
